The Bowbelle Wreck - Bom Rei

Without a doubt, the Bowbelle Wreck is the most well known and loved wreck in Madeira. Located on the outskirts of Ponta do Sol, this 90m long sand dredger is an impressive site. Previously a dredger in the River Thames in London, United Kingdom, the Bowbelle was renamed Bom Rei after it was sold to Madeira and sunk 6 years later in 1996 after spiting in two. Divers can visit the wreck at a depth of 32m and is home to a great many moray eels and groupers!
