Facing the Bourg du Pecheur ('Fisherman's Village'), between Anse Belleville and Les Abymes, The Citadel is a coral plateau that gradually dips down in stages until it reaches a sheer drop of 60 meters. Down at 30 meters, the plateau is swarmed by snappers, parrotfish, turtles or crayfish, with a few Spanish mackerels lurking in the distance... Looking out in the blue will bring you on the edge of the drop-off: it is covered in anemones and gorgonian fans. A lovely dive to fully appreciate the diversity of the volcanic tropical fauna.
