La Pointe et La Patate Cabrit

North of Terre-de-Haut Island lies l’îlet à Cabrit while in the west La Pointe Cabrit marks one of the entries to the Baie des Saintes.

La Pointe:  This peak has the enormous advantage of always being sheltered so, even in bad weather; it’s always possible to dive off the peak or on the massive coral pinnacle.

This is a “multi-level” dive. Beginners can dive on the plateau between 2-5 meters where they can admire the extremely varied (and a little wild) flora and fauna, such as, filefish. More experienced divers, if they desire, can go down further along the drop-off up to 20 meters.

If you take time to “hang out” a little above the sand, you will surely encounter “garden eels”, or heterocongers, which are just barely coming out of their holes only to go back in as soon as you approach.

La Patate: located between La Pointe Cabrit and the anchorage at l'îlet à Cabrit, across from Terre-de-Haut Island’s Pain de Sucre. This massive coral pinnacle is a sanctuary to a multitude of scorpionfish, rock lobsters, damselfish, Chinese trumpetfish, moray eels, etc. In fact, we meet almost all the Caribbean reef fauna here!

From La Pointe Cabrit, the drop-off leads you on this pinnacle between 6-8 meters. The return takes you up on top of a rocky drop-off rich in reef fauna.
