One of the iconic dive sites on Komodo National Park. There are often a couple of other boats on it, but don't worry: there's enough for everyone!
The site is shaped like a mountain that'd be collapsing and eroding onto itself. The fauna is characteristic of Komodo and Indonesia: rich, dense and diverse... and always in motion. Enormous schools of fusiliers, unicornfish and bannerfish attract big predators, like gray reef sharks, tunas, barracudas or dolphins (early in the morning). If you're lucky you might find yourself in the middle of a full blown hunt! Needless to say, those hunts wreak havoc in the usually well arranged schools of plankton feeders!
Take your time by swimming gradually shallower around the main dome and take a look underneath the table corals, inside the little cracks or in the gorgonian fans: a whole realm of tiny invertebrates has settled in, including pigmy seahorses and blue-eyed crab...
