Blue MaoMao Arch

Blue MaoMao Arch is THE flagship dive site of the Poor Knights Islands. When Jacques Cousteau ranked the islands number 7 in his Top 10, he was explicitly thinking of Blue MaoMao arch! You enter the shallow arch (7-8m deep) from both sides: one goes underneath a huge boulder, the other is through a big staircase made of... boulders!

Once you're inside it's a colourful new world that awaits you. The light goes through both ends and a big opening on the side, flooding the arch with god-sent light beams! Some days the place is black with fish! So much so that you could not see the other end of the arch even in clear water: demoiselles and blue MaoMaos are engaged in a territorial fight and huge schools push each other on the walls, creating a smooth ballet. And some other days... there isn't a single fish inside! That's Nature at its best. Surprising but always splendid, it shines its beauty in this out-of-this-world arch.
