Koh Racha Yai

Koh Racha Yai (also spelled Raya or Raja) is the biggest of the two islands south of Phuket. Located on the east coast, it has light currents that bring the divers along smoothly: it definitely is a diving dedicated place!

A lot of different species of coral can be found here, though the place is dominated by staghorn corals. Barracudas, tunas, blue marlins are regular visitors! The numerous bays and coves have turned the area into a coral fish haven, like for the stone and scorpion fish!

The visibility at Racha Yai is often amazing, and gives your wreck dives a special atmosphere. The island counts four of them, and they're accessible to PADI Open Water and Advanced levels. They're a good alternative to the coral reef!

The sites are accessible to all levels and experience, rest assured. The bays around the island provide a lot of shallow waters, which is ideal for beginners.
