Manta Point is the second most dived site around Nusa Penida. Located to the south of the big deserted island, in a sheltered cove surrounded by sheer cliffs, it is a truly popular site: 7 meters deep on average, you can observe manta rays feeding and getting cleaned... when you get bored (??), turn your gaze down and look for some nudibranchs! The mantas come here to use the 'cleaning station' and get rid of their parasites, but also to feed on the incredible concentration of plankton sent by the Indian Ocean. They're very much used to divers and seem comfortable swimming amidst the bubbles: respect their space and never try to touch them, they'll let you come quite close! The oceanic swell can turn the dive site into a washing machine, so call ahead of time to ensure you get the right conditions for your experience. Last but not least, the water temperature can drop to 18 degrees... suit up accordingly!
