The Dori is an old cargoship used during WWII but that, surprisingly, sank a while later in 1964! The dive site is about to be protected as an archeologic site. The wreck lies 20m down on a sandy bottom and is accessible to all divers. Keep in mind that the hull is badly damaged: any penetration is thus strictly prohibited! But that really isn't a problem, even for fanatic wreck divers, since the ship is surrounded by hordes of fish... Schools of sardines, mackerels are constantly swirling around, hunted down by tunas! Sightings of eagle rays are fairly commonplace. A great dive for beginners and experienced divers alike, a must dive in the Azores!
