Critters Lembeh Dive Centre, Sulawesi
If we only had one adjective to define Critters Lembeh Dive Centre, it would have to be impressive: the quality of the customer service, the team professionalism, the dive planning, the respect for the environment, the safety record... it's all just perfect! You will be welcomed as a friend and taken care of like you are family. Once you are all settled in (room with breath-taking view on Lembeh Strait and Klabat volcano), register for your dives and fill in the traditional paperwork and answer the question: what do you want to see during your stay?! Your answer will be duly considered... Mimic octopus? No worries! Mandarinfish? By the dozen! A couple of pygmy seahorses? On every dive! Nudibranchs? It's a festival!!
The gear is yours for the duration of your stay, put it in a tray, and the staff will carry it, prepare it and put it away for you. The same goes for your photography gear: it's all dealt with! The groups are small, 3 divers per guide, there is water, snacks and towels onboard, and you'll be served tea, coffee and some nibbles when you are back at the dive centre. All the briefings are sharp and detailled with fish books on the Strait species: once again you'll be asked what you want to see, almost like you were ordering... The dives last on average one hour, with a maximum depth of 30 meters and no decompression stops. As an underwater photographer you are pampered by the guides at Critters Lembeh as they are trained to find the coolest stuff and to give you the best angle, setting or light for your subject! People usually do 3 dives a day, it's up to you to decide... If you want a break from diving, check out the swimming pool in the dive centre, as well as the spa in the afternoon, the movies or the internet area (free WIFI everywhere!).
Meals are simple and tasty, prepared with great care; breakfast and lunch are buffet style while the dinners are 'a la carte'. Only the drinks are not included in the menus. Time goes by so fast here you'll want to do some more diving, an extra night dive or get another try at finding the Ambon scorpionfish... We can guarantee that you will come back!
