Our opinion on Piton Plongée Dive Center
Located near the port of Deshaies, a lovely little village on the island of Basse Terre, Guadeloupe, Piton Plongée Dive Center is a friendly place where divers can enjoy the underwater wonders of the region, in peace and tranquility. Didier and Phillippe are both scuba instructors and run the dive center, taking great pride in their high standards of customer service. They are very attentive and really take the time to get to know their divers needs and requests. Piton Plongée is known for its ‘slow diving’ where safety and fun come first!
With a wide range of ANMP and TDI training available, the dive center also offers FFESSM (French diving association) courses for children from bronze up to silver and from Level 1 to Level 4. Enriched Air Nitrox as well as rebreather discover dives are also available for the more adventurous divers!
Training for people with physical disabilities can be organised and new divers are provided with confined water training (in a swimming pool) in order to build confidence before heading out to the ocean!
Two trips per day are organise on board ‘La Palanquee’ a 12m long aluminium dive boat which can accommodate up to 17 divers. A little over a dozen dive sites are ready to be explored and are located approximately 20 minutes away. Piton Plongée are ambassadors for marine conservation and have set up artificial moorings in an attempt to preserve the reef. They also work closely alongside the islands Turtle Sanctuary.
Friendly, relaxed and ‘chilled out diving’ pretty much sum up Piton Plongée and TribloO.com can promise you won’t be disappointed!!
