Our opinion on Ikan Dive Center in Bali:
100% Baliese, 100% professional and 100% unique is how to best describe IkanDiveCenter. Located in the small village of Padangbai on the east coast of Bali in Indonesia, it was founded in 2002 by Mawi, a local dive guide from the village.
By his side is a team of Balinese staff. There are no European dive instructors or dive guides, only local knowledgeable staff who know the island, the dives sites and the marine life like the back of their hands. Following high safety standards, keeping the dive center equipment serviced, and speaking multiple languages are just a few of their many talents! The only exception to the rule is Mawi’s wife Claire! She is an experienced diver from France, and has dived all over the world. She settled in Bali after meeting Mawi at a wedding! They now have a family of three beautiful children.
There is so much on offer at Ikan Dive Center: family diving, Sidemount diving, enriched air Nitrox, Discover Scuba Diving, underwater photography... everything is possible! Depending on their certification, divers can enjoy Manta Point or a drift dive in Jemeluk Bay, or take stunning photos of macro life in the Secret Bay! Don’t worry, however, non-divers will not be forgotten – they’ll have a tough choice between snorkeling, relaxing on the beach, or trying the delicious local cuisine (at local prices) at the Ikan Dive Center restaurant! The kids can get to know the local fun lovers that invade the dive center after school each day!
Ikan Dive Center is truly unique. Unique in being 100% local and unique because everyone, no matter where they’re from, divers of all levels and children are all welcome here! Ask Mawi or Claire for advice, recommendations and they will help you organize everything you could possibly need for your dive trip to Bali and if you don’t know what you want – just ask!
