Our opinion on Issa Diving Center:
Are you a shipwreck lover? A military history buff? A professional or amateur tec diver? All of the above? Well, the former military base on Vis in Croatia has everything to satisfy your dive desires! In 1996, after Yugoslavia left Vis definitively, Sinizia, a military diver for 15 years, founded the Issa Diving Center.
In the past, Vis in Croatia was a major source of conflict and today its territorial water is home to more than 11 wrecks, including 3 planes! Siniza and his team of 3 divemasters and 3 instructors do not just point you in the right direction, they accompany you and give you a bit of the history of Croatia while they’re at it!
The TETI, a steam-powered cargo ship, shipwreck is the perfect dive site for introductory dives and beginners. They will meet not only European congers, but will be submerged in the Italian origins of Vis. If you have the level and experience, you can deep dive to see a beautiful B-17 American bomber that will not only astound you by its amazing preservation, but will also give you a new understanding of the dangerous ties between the Germans, Italians, and Yugoslavians.
Tec and exploration divers will love the Wassilos T, a Greek cargo ship that was sunk by a storm and which lies between 20 and 55 meters down. Not to mention all the other beautiful wrecks: the URSUS tugboat sunk by a submarine, the B-24 bomber Host, the B-24 Parzan riddled with bullets, different amphorae from Archeology Host, and Blue Cave!
If choosing among the 26 available dive sites seems difficult, wait till you hear the real cherry on the sundae. Issa Diving Center offers EVERY kind of dive imaginable: standard, Nitrox, trimix, sidemount, rebreather, twin tanks, heliox, etc. You get the idea! EVERYTHING is here! Issa Diving Center is linked to the history of the island, and soon will be linked to your diver story. An absolute MUST!
