Our Opinion on Subtortue Diving:
The Subtortue Diving Center welcomes you in the splendid Gulf of Saint Cyprien in the commune of Lecci, 10 minutes from the natural reserve of Cerbicales Island. Their motto: Safe diving in good spirits!
With Greg in charge, you will discover over thirty different diving sites adapted to your level. First, we have Mérouville (Grouper City) and the legendary Lavezzis Isles. Then, we explore the shipwreck of Toro, a coaster that is now home to rich flora and fauna. Next, we make our way to the Arches, one of the most beautiful island dives for experienced divers, and so on, and so on, just to name a few…
With a solid experience of more than 10 years in the area, Greg and Subtortue have become leading specialist for the locals. There is also a weekly cocktail in the company of a marine biologist specializing in Mediterranean species to share knowledge of the area with the divers and create bonds between them off the boat. Greg has definitely kept with him his sense of hospitality and hosting from his former career as a cook!
He will take you, with his two boats, on snorkeling adventures, adult and child introductory dives, and Level 1 trainings (no matter the school: PADI, French Federation, CEDIP, etc). He also has trainings to boost your Level 2, Advanced Open Water Diver, and Level 3, Rescue Diver. At Subtortue, no need to surface after only 30 minutes, the boss wants you to fully enjoy your underwater experience! In general, he takes his dive groups under for 50 minutes minimum...
From 8 years old to senior status, Subtortue trains everybody. No problem for people with disabilities either: welcome! The center is fully adapted and pays close attention to the more "fragile” divers, for example, women’s and senior citizens' tanks are carried, if needed, by the staff!
And, for the more experienced divers, a team of enthusiasts will offer you around ten sites that are accessible to those L2 or over and at least one deep dive (50-60 meters) per week. The center also provides Nitrox training billed at the same price as air! Also, tech training is offered up to L3 and soon, they will have underwater photo classes.
Finally, Greg offers sunset dives to help you discover the pleasure of being alone in the sea. A great way to enjoy a different lighting and observe fish behavior at dusk! A truly extraordinary experience and if you’re really lucky, you will see gallivanting dolphins on the surface!
