Diving the Eastern Pyrenees

Down the south of France, between the Mediterranean sea and the Pyrenee mountains, is French Catalonia. Its shores (Côte Vermeille) are well preserved and display a unique and diverse environment among which the Gulf of Lion Marine Park or the Marine Reserve of Cerbere Banyuls. The local culture here is very important to the people and nurtures a great respect for Mother Nature. From the towns of Racou to Cerberes, the nicknamed 'Vermilion Coast' (or 'Ruby Coast') is a cut out shoreline with capes or steep cliffs diving straight down into the sea!

Right there, sheltered by the mountains of the Albera Massif, shines the Marine Reserve of Cerberes Banyuls which harbours hundreds of different fish, more than 500 flora species and numerous shipwrecks like The Alice Robert, the Astree or the infamous Saumur! It is a pretty unique environment where human impact is strictly regulated for a fine Human/Nature balance in mind. Most of the dive sites in this Catalonian strong-hold are of high-quality and will definitely deliver!
