Diving Hawaii

Among the destinations that call forth wild daydreams with travellers and divers alike, Hawaii is definitely topping the list! Like a string of islands in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, Hawaii is famous for its beaches on Waikiki, Honolulu and its posh boutiques, the ukuleles, Pearl Harbor or the impossibly bright flowery shirts... The hawaiian landscape has been used in so many TV shows around the world that it's already familiar to just about everyone! At last, if you associate Hawaii with the sea, people start to think of surfers. Yet, there's so much more to Hawaii!

Indeed scuba diving isn't the first thing to cross your mind: that's for the better, since you will be quite surprised to see what's in stock for you! The islands are actually quite recent, in geological terms; Big Island, a.k.a. Hawai'i, is actually still under construction... So the seabed is just like the topside: volcanic!

Each island has its specificity. Barrelling manta rays and the famous Cook Bay on Big Island, WWII wrecks around Oahu, the Molokini submerged crater in Maui, or the lava tunnels near Kauai... The visibility is great everywhere, you can expect over 30m on a majority of dive sites; and a 3mm wetsuit is just perfect for the water temperature! Now the most difficult task ahead of you is chose which island to stay on and which dive center to find you the iconic Humuhumunukunukuapuaa, the flagship fish of Hawaii!
