Diving Cape Verde

Being still unspoilt by mass tourism, Cape Verde is not the first destination that comes to mind when we think of diving, and yet, Cape Verde has many advantages to it when it comes to SCUBA. One of the first ones is that it's possible to dive year-round in the waters of this archipelago, just a stone throw away from the Senegalese coast. Though the ten islands of this tiny country are found in the Atlantic Ocean, the temperature rarely drops below 22°, reaching a comfortable 27° in autumn.

The second advantage for a diver is the accessibility of its sites. The majority of them are found between 10 and 22 metres-- perfect for all levels, from first-timers to more experienced divers. However, the ultimate advantage of these islands has to be, without contest, the beauty and diversity offered of the ocean! The few dive centres that set up shop here were not mistaken. About the fauna, fish swim between the Atlantic zone and tropical waters: this means we can encounter parrotfish, bass, sea bream, alongside giant oceanic manta rays! As for the setting, shipwrecks mix beautifully with impressive rock formations... Also don’t forget that this archipelago is of volcanic origin. For this reason there is an impressive showcase of caves, canyons, faults, and other black lava screes all around. Trust us, dives full of surprises at every turn guaranteed!
