Our review of Phocea Mexico La Paz
A brand-new dive center, Phocea Mexico La Paz opened its doors in june 2015 at the heart of Baja California's capital city, La Paz, at the western end of Mexico. With the sea about 20m away form the building, the dive club is the only one in town to offer packages including diving, accommodation (Marina Palmira Hotel) and pelagic watching tours in the bay. An all-included package that divers can customize at will.
With 6 dive instructors trained within the other two Phocea Mexico dive centers, in Playa del Carmen and Cozumel, the company can train divers in any PADI courses, on demand, from first-timers up to the pro level Divemaster Course! You can rely on good quality gear from Aqualung, with enough kits to welcome even large goups... 60 divers tops!
The peculiar location of La Paz in Baja California offers a mix of tropical fauna, pelagics and Pacific ocean mammals. With their fast boats Phocea La Paz has access to a large variety of dive sites so you'll very likely see some seals, dolphins and sharks during your dives! Ask for a day trip that includes a couple of dives plus whale-sharks and grey whales spotting tours.
The dive center staff can come pick you up at the airport for free and can organize, on demand, a local road trip... which we higly recommend. The idea is that they book you a car, a few hotels along the way and hand you out a map with all the hot spots: now, that's a fresh idea! The innovative on demand services, the flexibility of the whole team, the variety of dive sites and water activities offered by Phocea Mexico La Paz speak for itself: that's Baja California at its finest, with TribloO's highest praises!
